Our history

A historic estate to fall in love with

The Tenuta San Giorgio is located in Santa Giuletta, among the rolling hills of the Oltrepò Pavese, from where you can admire a panorama stretching from the Alps to the Apennines. Dating back to the Marquis Sauli of Genoa family, it houses a 16th-century crenelated tower that has resisted the passage of time almost intact, just like the perfectly preserved underground cellar. Vestiges of a distant past whose beauty still persists today.

Philosophy

A historical, natural, and cultural heritage to be protected

The estate extends in a single body over about 22 hectares of which about twenty are old vines, with an average age of 35 years, cultivated in a sustainable manner and with low environmental impact. In the remaining hectares of the estate, it has been decided to preserve the centuries-old oak and cherry tree forest, which is precious and indispensable for the well-being of the land and the ecosystem.

Philosophy

A family that has written the history of the Langhe wines

Mario Cordero takes the experience of a history of great wines with him: over thirty years at the helm of one of the most renowned wineries in the Langhe, with the ever-precise objective of bringing the taste of the territory into the glass. Now the baton is taken over from his children, Francesco, Lorenzo, and Caterina.

MARIO, ALWAYS LOOKING TO THE FUTURE

Three siblings, one major challenge

Francesco, Lorenzo, and Caterina are three siblings born in the wake of the great Piedmontese winemaking tradition, in a family that has its roots in the Langa vineyards, in Castiglione Falletto. Nowadays, they have started a new adventure, in a new place, but with the same values and determination as always.

The passion of a new generation

That of the three siblings is a story starting in Piedmont from experience in the family winery to spread around the world, with years of training in different wineries and different countries – France, United States, New Zealand – in search of different techniques and styles to refine the way of winemaking and to have a greater awareness for sustainability and beauty.

Oltrepò Pavese: wines, culture, nature. And the courage of San Giorgio

The Oltrepò Pavese is an area formed by rolling hills in the south of Lombardy, the meeting point of four different territories: Lombardy, Piedmont, Liguria, and Emilia Romagna. A crossroads of different cultures, languages, traditions, and cuisines. A strip of land with the strength and courage of San Giorgio.
